桜咲く - Sakura blossom. (2)

Hanami - Part 2 Thursday  (Will go Sunday also)

Today was the Hanami excursion with students and teachers from Aichi Shukutoku University. We were originally to leave at 1:30 and arrive at about 3, though there was a 60% chance of rain for the afternoon onwards so we went earlier. This meant that I had no classes today, though also that tomorrow will gain a class.

Noh selfies allowed!

First up was the Noh Theatre, which was amazing to see and I would love to go see a performance at some point. So far I have been fortunate enough to see kabuki, though I am aware that there are other styles of plays that I am yet to see.

This mask is actually of a female and as each mask depicts an emotional state, this shows an angry or scorned woman.

Beauty in all things and love for the small things.

Hope you all enjoyed my first blog post about the sakura, though before you cry "but Senti/Belinda, where are the ridiculously artsy shots of the sakura??" Well my little petals, here they are.

Above: Pink sakura. I really enjoy the pink at the very center.

Left: Nagoya Castle against that wonderful blue spring sky.

Above:  Spotted one of the deer in the mote of the castle. There are a few deer that live here and I was glad to find one.

Right: Sakura around the mote.
Above: This was a hanging variety of sakura and I really enjoy this particular colour.

Right: Petals on the ground as the flutter down from the trees. I enjoy the areas of shade and sun.

 Lunch

- Miso katsu
- Udon
- Sakura dango
- Inari
- Salad
- New "hanami" chopsticks.

Managed to catch one of the falling petals.

So much sakura at Nagoya Castle. It was a real pleasure taking these photos as no matter how lacking my skills are at photography, the beauty of the sakura made up for it.

Finally had some sakura icecream.

It had actual sakura leaves in it and I can tell you from experience, it tasted like the real deal. .

This is my favorite single sakura tree in all of Nagoya. It is located on a corner and thus catches the sun from two directions despite growing downward.

Just the way that it leans down, letting the wind catch it's petals sending them fluttering up through the corridors.

..and with that we left Nagoya Castle bound for Hanami at Heiwa Park on the Sakura-dori line.

Where the river meets the sea.
The destination chosen for the afternoon session of Hanami was Yamazakigawa Riverside.

Everyone always appreciates the front of the flowers, though this image captures what many photographers seem to miss.

The darker pink and green stems provide hidden colour just waiting to be discovered.

The flower without petals below reveals the shape of the stems from the front as it forms a beautiful star.

Above is my absolute favorite shot of the day.

Right: This symbol linned one of the bridges crossing the river.

Bottom Right: So much sakura!!!

Another variety of hanging sakura, this time the colour is lighter as you can see, though the flowers were so delicate.

Shall finish up with something sweet. Sweet potato by the sakura.
